MAKEUP TIPS
I've come to realize that the kind of makeup we wear as DIVAS tells a whole lot about the touches on it. It is either quack, professional, natural, disastrous, dramatic, fair or it makes no statement at all. A lot of people abuse the use of cosmetics which is ignorantly called makeup. "I want to buy makeup", " please what kind of makeup do you use?" (Haba), abeggy, Don't frown joor, we all make these mistakes, Now, that brings me to the definition of makeup; it is the use of cosmetics on the parts of the body so as to cover marks, wrinkles, spots etc, this definition seems to be for beautification purpose alone, yes it actually is, that's because it is the focus in this field. Some other makeups could be for disguise and this is common in movies and so on. A guru in this aspect can make a 20 year old look 80 year old, change a beautiful toned skin to a worn out and wrinkled one and so many other disguises one can ever think of, so I then, decided to give a general meaning to the word makeup in artistic field; as the application of cosmetics applied to the face or part of the body to improve or change a person's appearance.
powder, lip colour, brow pencil, eyeliner and so many others are not makeup, they are cosmetics used for making up. The application or composition of cosmetics to the face is called makeup.Cosmetics are enhancing, decorative and ornamental agents used for beautifying the skin.
Cosmetic serves as an aesthetic purpose for beautifying the body, which automatically means your Mac powder or mary Kay lipsticks are not makeups, they are cosmetics used for makeup. So please let's stop making that mistake of calling cosmetics makeup
I assume by now we can tell the difference between makeup and cosmetics, if not please read again, what you read that lead you to this paragraph (abeg I can not come and die)
Thanks for reading all this, I know most of we Nigerians hates (long tinz) so you might want to stop here and continue later but I appreciate the fact that you read this piece. Kiss kiss

Na wa ooooooo you no won close this page
Okay if you insist
Let's get started,
The NO1 thing you should take note of is the 3S factor. Your Skin type, Skin tone, Skin care products or Cosmetics.
Skin type: Identifying the kind of skin you have is very vital, and should be the first step to take before choosing what products to use atall for your skin. Visiting a skin doctor is a long thing I know that's what we mostly conclude, the word Doctor will scare sh*t out of some people, well a dermatologist (I'm sure that sounds better and relieving) is someone who is an expert in the treatment of skin and it's diseases. he or she will carry out test on your skin and tell you what skin type you have. It Could be dry, oily, normal combination or delicate, depending on their medical terms.
Skin tone:This is when you use products to enhance your skin so that makeups looks bright and beautiful on you, please don't get the word tone wrong, tone doesn't mean bleaching or making your skin fair. Tone for this purpose of study is a quality of a given color that differs slightly from another color. If you want your skin to glow and be bright then you definitely have to tone. A dark skinned person can tone in a way that her dark skin is brightened and also glowing. now let's get this right, it is after a skin test that you can now visit a cosmetologist to recommend a soothing skin care products that is meant for your skin type, so if you are unable to tell a cosmetologist who is an expert in the science of cosmetics, your skin type, it only reflects that you have not visited a dermatologist. An experienced cosmetologist will either advise you to visit a skin doctor or ask questions to guess what skin type you have so as to be able to recommend mosturizers, shampoos, soaps, cleansers etc to be used, dermatologist specializes on skin and treats skin diseases and aswell recommend product, but in my opinion I think a dermatologist deals majorly with skin and this means he or she can identify anything concerning the skin while a cosmetologist can prescribe what to use to treat, correct or enhance what has been detected by the dermatologist.
Note: All this are just my opinion based on rights, I am not a professional with certificates on this subject, but I am a freelance beautician.
Skin Care products/Cosmetics:the cream , shampoo, powder, soaps, lip glosses, bronzers, eye shadows, fake lashes, fake nails, hair extensions and treatments, nail coats, makeup brushes and sponges and so many more are cosmetics. Skin care products are the ones used directly to the skin;foundations, powder, eye shadows, brow pencils, creams, cleansers, shampoos etc. all this and more are skin care products because they are used directly to the skin and requires a skin test and skin tone before usage. We all know we do not need a skin test to know what kind of nails to use or what kind of fake lashes to be used, or even the type of hair extensions to be used.(Biko no go fall my hand ooo)
The general word is cosmetics and they are used to beautify or enhance our body.
This is the main focus of a cosmeticians; someone who works in a beauty parlor or someone who sells or applies cosmetics. Now that we have a beautiful skin tone then cosmeticians like T2 Sleeky can recommend the colour of foundation, powder, lip colour etc to be used.
A lot of us that uses cosmetics do not go through this processes and that is an abuse and dis respect to our skin, we watch adverts, deceived with pictures of the labelled model and then we just decide to use the cream, just like that, I am not saying this products are not good, ofcourse I know there are products that they say, is for all skin types, but a lot of people will agree with me that jack of all trades, master of none. There are products made specially for your skin type, and it's best recommended by specialist in that field. I hope this helps us correct how we care less about our skin.
*hugs* and *kisses* thanks for reading through.
Bye
